The gold cross is stitched into the cloth on both ends, never a patch or a print. The cloth is backed in satin, and each end finishes in 2 inches of gold fringe. 104 inches end to end: 52 a side, 3 inches wide at the neck and 4.5 at the ends.

The embroidery is stitched on the stole itself, not a patch.

Want the full embroidery? The red stole, with its own symbols on each end, is $34.99.

What it means

Its arms end in three buds, and the cross itself is the plainest sign of the faith: a stole for the services of its season.

A single gold budded cross on each end.

When it is worn

Red carries the Day of Pentecost and most feasts of apostles, evangelists and martyrs. In the Roman rite it is worn on Palm Sunday and Good Friday, and in Episcopal use through Holy Week, except at Holy Communion on Maundy Thursday. It is also the colour of ordinations in the Episcopal Church and many Anglican churches.
