Inclusive worship.
A rainbow design for churches that welcome its use: a stole that says, before a word is spoken, that all are welcome. The rainbow is God's sign of promise after the flood, a covenant with every living creature (Genesis 9:13).
When
The rainbow belongs to no single day or season. If it is a gift, check the church's practice before you order.
What each tradition wears
- In the calendars
- The rainbow is not a liturgical colour: it is assigned to no season in the Roman Missal, in Common Worship, in the Scottish Episcopal calendar, in Lutheran guidance or in the Methodist Book of Worship. It is a design for churches that welcome its use.
Choosing
The Rainbow stole is printed the full length in a spectrum of colour and drawn with charcoal lines, like the leading in stained glass. The other five stained glass stoles are printed the same way.
